Bluegrass Steaks & Everything Sauce:  Original and Racy & Spicy
Our signature sauce is the Bluegrass Steaks & Everything Sauce (BSES) – Original Blend. I started making the first batches of Bluegrass Steaks and Everything Sauce over thirty years ago to give as gifts to my family, friends and co-workers. Each year they asked for more and some actually kept their bottles for convenient refills. With continuous encouragement to start selling the sauce, I started Kentucky Specialty Sauces.
Being a racing fan and particularly fond of Keeneland’s Bluegrass Stakes Race, I called it Bluegrass Steaks and Everything Sauce(pun intended) – it really is good on everything: as a condiment for steaks, lamb and pork; a barbecue and dipping sauce for grilled chicken, pork, and shrimp/fish; a distinguishing ingredient for meat loaf; an optimum addition for baked beans and omelets; as part of a simple appetizer poured over a block of cream cheese; slathered on ribs and even poured lavishly on grilled hot dogs. Bluegrass Steaks and Everything Sauce Original Blend was perfected from a basic recipe I got from a relative over thirty years ago. I experimented with a variety of spices and flavors until the sauce was “just right”. The results included using pickled walnuts from England, mangoes and a variety of spices.
In response to my heat-loving customers, I next developed the Racy/Spicy blend of Bluegrass Steaks and Everything Sauce.  This blend was created by adding a secret ingredient to the original blend’s recipe to increase the heat.  One devoted customer said:  “The heat creeps up on you and I just love it.”  My intent was to “knock the heat factor up a notch, but not make it overwhelming hot enough to destroy my consumer’s sense of taste.”

Blanton’s Connoisseur Sauce
Age International, Incorporated, (Frankfort, KY) the international distributor of Blanton’s Bourbon, and Kentucky Specialty Sauces met at a Kentucky World Trade Center Trade Show in Lexington, KY.  As they spent the day together, they discussed common traits and compliments for their products:  Blanton’s Bourbon and Bluegrass Steaks and Everything Sauce (BSES).  This partnership produced a complex, full bodied and refined sauce combining Blanton’s Bourbon with BSES known as Blanton’s Connoisseur Sauce Both products are representative of Kentucky’s personality, traditions, spirits and culinary excellence.
Blanton’s Connoisseur Sauce (BCS) is the unique combination of Blanton’s Bourbon flavors of caramel, toffee and vanilla and bourbon with BSES flavors of walnuts, mangoes and aromatic spices.  This sauce truly dances in your mouth.  Its uses are the same as our Bluegrass Steaks & Everything sauces which are wide and varied and are only limited by your cooking imagination.

Pineapple Chutney
The recipe for our Pineapple Chutney is from my long time friend, gourmet cook and food adventurer, Libbie Sherman.  Libbie enjoys exploring different flavors and foods for her family and friends’ culinary enjoyment.  
Our pineapple chutney’s complex flavor comes from sweet pineapple, exotic spices, herbs and peppers.  The result is a sweet and spicy adventure for the taste buds.
It is especially good as a glaze or accompaniment to ham and turkey – the perfect addition to a holiday meal.  It makes a wonderful hors d’oeuvre served with brie or any soft cheese.
